Trip to lake Garda
Enjoy the fresh air and the charm of the unhurried life of small towns with their narrow streets, old cobbled streets and churches, which produce in the soul a thrill. With terracotta roofs, pots of fragrant rosemary on each corner and aglaonema lazy cats.
Raiding local shops. Uncontrollably in the heat of passion to buy ceramic plates and other cozy tentivly handmade soft like a slipper moccasins are made of the finest suede leather and luxury shoes with lace and high heel design, and definitely excellent local wine and sweets!
Finally, sit on the sun-drenched terraces of the local restaurants. Throw bread crumbs to the ducks, enjoy the regally passing by swans and the azure waters of one of the most beautiful lakes in Europe.
That’s why we went to Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) . And to celebrate a birthday!
How to get
From Milan to lake Garda is 120 km. by car about 1.5 hours via the A4 motorway (direction Milano-Vebezia, the motorway exit is Peschiera del Garda, Sirmione or Desenzano del Garda). By train from Milan, an hour from station Centrale to Desenzano, 20 Euro one – way ticket.)
To be honest, the weather forecast was not pleased. Promised us rain, wind and other frowns-dampness. But there was nothing to do – already booked the hotel (this is not the first time through “Groupon”), bags are Packed, birthdays again inexorably approaching. So. “he said, let’s Go! and waved his hand”.
Our hotel “Palace Hotel Desenzano” was very well situated between two towns of Desenzano and Sirmione. Immediately the room will tell come may. New, with a nice design and large rooms, Breakfast great! We still, however, hoped to enjoy the local Spa. Spa but to call it I can not. A small nook with one cabin sauna, one mini-chachamim and some know-how-showers with different types and directions of spray. Plus a few couches for lying down with a Cup of tea. Yes, it seemed to the eyes of the little smiling masseuse. But all together uncomfortable and unintelligible. Half an hour spent relaxing and not wait.
But the hotel has 2 swimming pools! On the street. So in the summer can be quite nice.
Went to dinner in the old town of Sirmione. It is 2-3 km, we Walked through the streets, pasilacial in the Windows of restaurants and stopped at ” La Roccia”. Chose him, tempted by the sign at the entrance: “vera pizza napoletana” – real Neapolitan pizza . It turned out the owners and most workers of the restaurant – the Neapolitans. And the pizza (as expected, in a wood oven) here is actually very even. In our personal rating on a five-point system issued her a solid four.
The waiter is brutal with the Sicilian mafia appearance – all this evening was advised to try pastiera – famous Neapolitan Easter cake-based dough with ricotta cheese, boiled wheat, vanilla and candied fruit. As we have seen, a favorite Sicilian saying: “If you don’t like it, I’ll eat!” Judging by the fact that the guy is skinny like roach, all all love.
